PORTFOLIO: BRANDING

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TULIP FESTIVAL

The Canadian International Tulip Festival required a re-brand for the Festival – the largest of its kind in the world. As a brand, it had to be timeless and recyclable to adapt to any future theme and media platform – all on a shoestring budget.

We designed a ‘tulip’ icon (see left) where the ‘bulb’ could be replaced with a symbol that represented one of the many activities for the 2-week event. The simplicity and humour of the design/campaign drew huge crowds to each activity. It turned out to be one of the most successful Tulip Festivals in history.

The campaign consisted of:

  • Website, web banners, social media/Facebook
  • Newsprint banner ads
  • Radio spots
  • Posters/BIXI bike rake ads/shuttle bus signage
  • Stage and on-site signage
  • Brochure and postcards
